My Dad, Sid Martell

Sid Martell, born in 1932, Sydney, Nova Scotia, into a hardworking family, embraced the craft of carpentry while nurturing a passion for music. In his spare time, he captivated audiences with his performances, even gracing the stage of local TV shows, "Cape Breton Barn Dance", "T.R. Ranch" & " Oland's Saturday Night". He and his bandmates delighted the radio airwaves with their weekly radio program, "The Radio Ranch Boys". His sole solo album, featuring his beautiful voice and his trusted guitar, showcases his talent for telling stories through traditional 'Cowboy' style songs. Keeping close to the family Sid & his sister Cecilia were a popular singing duo on these programs. Influenced by legends like Gene Autry and Slim Whitman, Sid's Celtic storytelling style resonates deeply, inviting listeners into his musical journey.
